Coronavirus (also known as COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2, nCoV) are a large family of viruses with some causing less severe common cold to more severe diseases like Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS). In December 2019, a novel coronavirus strain (SARS-CoV-2) was first identified in Wuhan, Hubei, China, in December 2019, and was recognised as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on 11 March 2020. The COVID-19 virus spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes. At this time, there are no specific vaccines or treatments for COVID-19. However, there are many ongoing clinical trials evaluating potential treatments.
